There are online reports stating that the crossover will be launched in India on June 11. Ford India's factory will supply cars to Nepal through the CBU route.

In Nepal, the EcoSport will be distributed through Go Automobiles, the official importer of Ford cars in Nepal. The EcoSport will inaugurate the compact crossover market in the Himalayan nation.

Just like in India, the Ford EcoSport for Nepal will offer a pair of petrol engines and a diesel engine. The 1.5 litre petrol engine develops 112PS. The second petrol engine is the award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost turbo charged motor which puts out an impressive 125PS.

The oil burner is a 1.5 litre unit which makes 91PS. All the engines are coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.5 litre petrol is also available with a 6-speed dual clutch PowerShift automatic transmission.

Mr. Dipesh Shakya, sales manager, Go Automobiles said, "Customers will be able to own the vehicle by the end of June." He added that the bookings will open as soon as the demo cars arrive. He also mentions that the car  has been receiving many inquiries.

The starting price of EcoSport in Nepal is around 3.5 million Nepalese rupees (around Rs. 21.84 lakhs), owing to government's hefty import duties.
