The Fiat Uno, a car we Indians hardly remember, had graduated to a new generation in 2010 in South America where it enjoys Maruti Alto-like popularity.

The Fiat Uno is the bread and butter model for the Italians in Brazil. This hatchback has been in the top 3 best selling cars in the country for many years now. As the demand for the old Uno continues to make a business case, it is sold alongside the new one as the 'Uno Mille.'

The current car which looks like a baby Panda is undergoing a mid-life refresh. Fiat has started working on it and we know this as Autossegredos.com.br has caught a test mule in Brazil.

Sporting a heavily disguised front fascia, the side and rear are left intact. Going by the disguise, the headlamps, grill (which is almost non existent in the current car), bumper and fenders are likely to be cosmetically enhanced.

Reports suggest that the facelift is the same car under the skin. The 1.0 litre and 1.4 litre flex fuel motors would be retained. However, the 0.9 litre TwinAir two-cylinder petrol engine could be added to the lineup.

The facelifted Fiat Uno would launch in the second half of 2014 as a 2015 model. In Brazil, the main rival would be the VW Gol.
