The Fiat Linea T-Jet is all set to begin its second innings in India.
A few hours ago, Fiat India has released a teaser through its Facebook page, which talks about the upcoming launches of the Fiat Linea T-Jet and the new Superman movie, Man of Steel. Today, Fiat has invited us to attend the launch of the 2013 Fiat Linea T-Jet on June 10.
The Linea T-Jet was the only turbocharged petrol sedan in this segment making it a top choice of petrol enthusiasts. However unfavorable fuel prices meant that the T-Jet found very few takers, so Fiat had to withdraw it from the market.
The recent reduction of petrol prices and increment of diesel prices has given Fiat India the confidence to relaunch the Linea T-Jet in the Indian market. The car will get the 2013 model year updates that were given to the Punto and the other variants of the Linea.
We expect the Linea T-Jet to feature very subtle changes to the interior and offer a bit more equipment. The exterior of the car is likely to feature no changes except for the badges.
The 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol engine could produce more power than the previous car which was good enough for 118 bhp and 207 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will transmit power.
Fiat is hoping that the Linea T-Jet finds itself more relevant in the Indian market now than before.
