BMW has announced the pricing of the 2014 BMW X5 and the range starts from $53,725 (around Rs. 32.34 lakhs).
BMW is famous for its dynamically edgier cars and therefore when they launched their X5 model way back in 1999 they marketed it as a SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). This made the X5 a very popular choice for the urban buyers who wanted a big car but not the typical SUV’s horrendous driving characters.
In what has become a signature BMW design touch, the headlamps flow into the broad-set kidney grill. LED accent rings trim the traditional corona rings for a modern look. The new standard LED fog lamps are fitted into the redesigned front bumper that has lines and curves running everywhere.
The rear end carries the now common L-shaped thin LED unit, with split tailgate and muscular horizontal lines. In profile, few vents and strong character lines compliment the new large alloy wheels. The X5 also features the brand’s first Aero Blades, which channels the air near the roof spoiler to improve aerodynamics.
But over time, competition for X-models has increased steadily. In India itself, the success of Audi has largely been due to the success of Q7 and its younger siblings. Therefore, BMW has been busy tweaking its SAVs line-up and with the new third generation X5 it seems to have pulled all the stops out.
With award winning engines and a refined package, the X5 is all set to lock horns with its rivals and this time the things can only get better for the Beemer.
