The all new 2013 Skoda Octavia continues testing in India. This picture of the car was clicked by Mr. Lalji Singh, a Motoroids reader, somewhere near Maharashtra.

After looking at a few details, we can come to the conclusion that this could be a top-end petrol model on test. The only giveaway that this is a petrol model is the TSI badge at the bootlid. While we know that Skoda would have a TSI engine, we don't know its displacement. Would it be a 1.8-liter TSI (as seen on the current car) or would it be the 1.4-liter TSI seen on the VW Jetta TSI?

The car sports a black roof and a sunroof is clearly visible, making us believe that this is a fully loaded car.

The new Octavia also wears the brand's new corporate logo and badging, making this the first Skoda in India to do so.

The new Octavia will be based on the VW MQB platform and as a result will feature an increased cabin space, at the same time a lower kerb weight when compared to its predecessor.

The new Octavia will also be more fuel efficient than the outgoing car given its reduced weight and retuned engines.

Skoda India is expected to launch the new Octavia by the end of this year, if not sooner. This should be followed by the refreshed 2013 Skoda Superb.
