If you remember, a few months ago, we brought you a spyshot of the VW Polo test mule carrying the TSI badges. Now we have another set of spyshots of the car from Overdrive.in.

The Polo 1.2 TSI which is expected to be called as the GT will effectively replace the Polo 1.6 petrol as the performance hatchback of the range. We hope that VW India doesn’t fiddle with the direct injection turbocharged 1.2 litre petrol motor’s state of tune.

The motor develops a healthy 105 bhp and 175 Nm of torque. The transmission option for the India spec car is the DSG automatic but it remains to be seen whether it is a 6- or 7-speed unit.

As far as the looks are concerned, the Polo GT 1.2 TSI has body kits which are reminiscent with that of the Polo SR edition. The door sills have the GT TSI badging but sadly the paddle shifters are missing. The interior gets a dual tone treatment and the pedals are made of brushed metal.

The Polo GT 1.2 TSI is expected to be launched sometime next month and will be targeting the enthusiasts right away. VW would be banking on the tech laden powertrain’s performance and efficiency to offset the premium pricing that will be demanded.

VW should consider headlamps with DRL as in passat &available in Europe to make car stand out in crowd . Paddle shifters are must for any performance car .
