The car gets a new chrome garnished front grill to start with and the fog lamps get dual tone treatment. The ORVM's get integrated turn indicators and there are new exterior color options on offer, but the rest of the exterior continue untouched.

Just like Maruti's earlier facelifts, the engineers have promptly improved the fuel economy of the 1.6 litre petrol engine. At 16.51 kmpl, the motor shows an improvement of about 6%. The CNG version of the engine continues to deliver 22.1 km/kg.

The 1.3 litre DDIS diesel engine which is dubbed as the "Super Turbo" hasn't changed in any respect and does 21.79 kmpl. The SX4 complies with OBD-II and BS-IV emission norms.

The creative TVC invites boys to grow up to become men by driving the new SX4 in the same way that they played driving a black board duster at school. The sedan retains its "men are back" tagline.

With the mildly updated version of its slow seller, Maruti is hoping to have some breathing space before the next generation SX4 sedan comes into picture.
