The Fiat Linea T-Jet was pulled out of the market when Fiat updated the Linea range in 2012. However, it seems Fiat is ready to bring back the iconic T-Jet badge once again in the Indian market.

The Italian automaker has updated its India-specific website with details of T-Jet model. It seems the T-Jet will be launched in two variants – Dynamic and Emotion.

The Fiat Linea T-jet, perhaps the only affordable turbocharged petrol sedan, was a delight for the Indian petrolheads. The turbocharged, direct injected, 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine managed to spit 114PS at 5000 rpm and 207Nm at 2200 rpm. It had remarkable handling dynamics thanks to bigger 16-inch wheels, wider 205/55 tyres and an all-four disc brake setup.

Fiat India’s head of corporate communications Marius D’Lima had informed IAB in February that the Linea t-Jet will be available in showrooms across India in April 2013. He also told us that it will not receive any exterior updates but it will be ‘packaged differently’.

Fiat Linea’s new brochure states that the GC of the Linea T-Jet has been bumped up. Previously, the T-jet had a GC of 170 mm. Now, the Dynamic variant gets a GC of 185 mm and the Emotion variant gets a GC of 190 mm; making the Linea T-Jet the highest GC sedan in its class. We are not sure how this update has influenced the handling of the Linea T-Jet.

Unfortunately, the website does not provide any information about the prices of the Linea T-Jet because it is not officially launched in India. Stay tuned as we try to figure out the intricate details.
