Chevrolet enjoy MPV frontThe Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is all set to hit the Indian roads next month. The 7 seat MPV will have a shot at the burgeoning MPV market.

Our friends at Oncars.in report that, according their sources close to GM India, the Enjoy will be launched on May 9th. The MPV will start a battle against well established rivals like the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo.

The Enjoy will offer a petrol and a diesel engine to choose from. The 1.4 litre petrol motor develops 103 bhp. The 1.3 diesel engine is nothing but the ubiquitous Fiat MultiJet motor which also powers the Maruti Ertiga. However the Enjoy makes do without the VGT, resulting in a modest power output of 76 bhp. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Though the Enjoy shares its engine with the Ertiga, it adopts a longitudinal configuration and the power is sent to the rear wheels. The Enjoy is expected to offer more legroom to the third row occupants than any of its rivals.

GM India is expected to price the Enjoy to take on the Ertiga directly. The three year Chevrolet Promise free maintenance plan will be one of the strong selling points.

Will the Chevrolet Enjoy manage to get the Ertiga worried or will it go the Nissan Evalia way? We will have to wait and see!

    GM should understand the qualities of Enjoy like bigger space, 3years peace of mind etc and decide on the segment, who requires this qualities over style, brand, shape etc. They want good space and comforts the maximum for people sitting in it. Why run on track which Ertiga masters, why not run on track which is new and you will master. If GM thinks and want to compete straight with Ertiga, then their sale figure will be doomed like Nissan Evalia.

    I have been travelling to Shenzhen[China] from HK, many times. And when you take cab from HK airport to Shenzhen which they call LEMO service, maximum time the vehicle is above one, which given fantastic comforts, leg room and ride quality.

    Take the road less travelled or you will be lost in the crowd.

    I am betting that this could be what Figo was to Ford at launch. Chinese yes, but if priced a full lac less, variant to variant against Ertiga, it could actually pose a threat to even Innova.

    Ertiga has a rather inconvinient 3rd row entry position for full sized adults. If Enjoy is able to have proper ingress and egress for 3rd row, and correctly priced, expect to see another blow to Maruti after the Amaze
