One of India's most successful goods carrier is facing stiff competition from both similarly sized and smaller pickup trucks which prove to be more frugal and efficient. The time for a major refreshment has come and the renovated 407 is just around the corner.

We brought you the spyshot of the LCV a few months back and once again our friends at Motorbash.com managed to snap what looks like a production ready model. The vehicle was spotted in the vicinity of Pune.

The basic shape of the cabin has not been altered but the front fascia gets a new design. The plastic front grill grows in size and the headlamp units sport clear lens turn indicators. One can notice the increased usage of plastics that is cheaper to manufacture is lighter in weight.

The current 407 has an outdated front fascia with almost no plastic components.

The current 407 family includes diesel and CNG versions with payload rating ranging from 2.2 to 4.2 tonnes. In the wake of competition, Tata could increase the power outputs and payload capacities in the facelifted range.

The 407 range today comprises of trucks, tippers, pick-ups and variants for agriculture/food products, construction, light mining and many other services.

Considering that the vehicle looks production ready, the launch could be just a short while away.
