The next gen Hyundai i10 is a hatchback to watch out for as it carries the promise of a diesel powertrain.

The 1.1 litre diesel engine which powers the Hyundai i20 in the UK is set to be added in the next generation Hyundai i10's engine lineup. We have presented you with spy shots of the fully camouflaged test mules previously and now Team-Bhp.com forum member Mr. Chandrasekar C present us these latest spyshots of the car which seems to be doing rounds in the outskirts of Chennai.

The next gen i10 is expected to be a big improvement over what is already a potent family hatchback. The first apparent discovery is that the new car is significantly bigger than the current i10.

The design is expected to be talking the Fluidic Sculpture language with a completely revised front and rear fascia. Even the roof line swoops down a little at the rear.

The changes would be drastic on the inside as well. Again, the design cues are expected to be borrowed from its bigger Fluidic Sculpture siblings.

Apart from the diesel engine, the next gen Hyundai i10 would continue to offer petrol motors. The improved version of the current 1.2 litre Kappa2 is our calculation.

The new i10 is most likely to make is world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September. Considering that India is the only production point for the current i10, the next gen car could make its sales debut here before other international markets.

If you plan to buy a new hatchback in 2014, have an eye on the new i10.
