Back home, the market conditions don't look promising. Fresh products with exciting designs are the need of the hour for a comeback. However, going by these spyshots on the internet, Tata maybe holding on to its older lineup a bit longer, not just in India, but in overseas markets as well.

Here are spyshots of the LHD versions of the Tata Indica and Tata Nano from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Both cars are believed to be in the country for pre-launch evaluation purposes. If you remember we reported that 50 LHD Nanos were sent to Vietnam to familiarize prospective dealers.

The first car to go on sales in Vietnam is expected to be the Tata Indica. According to Tata Motors' official importer and distributor for Vietnam, TMT Motor Corporation, the Indica would be launched in the last quarter of 2013.

However, there is no news about when the Nano would be launched. The LHD Nano which was spotted is a LX variant and it sports black interior and beige upholstery.

Both cars have to be shipped from India as they aren't made elsewhere. Tata Motors' installed capacity is under-utilized due to lack of demand in a slow domestic market. The export of slow selling models to markets like Vietnam would help clear some inventory, and these tried and tested models could earn Tata Motors a good reputation among Vietnamese car buyers who are out looking for a practical and no-frills hatchback.
