A second teaser has been uploaded by Land Rover wherein the Range Rover Sport has finally landed in NY for its official debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

But you are clearly not amused by these teaser because you have seen the real deal much before Land Rover started teasing the all-new Sport.

While Land Rover pretty much failed to hide the design of the Range Rover Sport from the masses before its debut, the tech specs are a mystery.

We do know that the Sport is built on the same Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA) that supports the all-new Range Rover. It is significantly lighter (300 kg to be precise) and generously longer (4.78 m to 4.85 m long) than its predecessor.

To give the Range Rover Sport its own identity, Land Rover has endowed it with a different design language which is influenced by the successful baby crossover Evoque. It features a slender grill, dark-tint headlamps and a reworked front bumper with a fake skid plate.

The rear is almost identical to the Evoque. It is far more stubbier than a normal Range Rover and features new tail lamps, new rear bumpers and a dual, chrome tipped exhaust setup.

There are many speculations about the new Range Rover Sport that are floating in the market. The most exciting one is that it will be the first Sport which will be offered in a seven seat configuration.

An entry level model with a 2.0 litre diesel engine is also speculated. In fact, the whole engine lineup itself is speculation at this point. We are expecting the following engines –

  • 3.0-liter LR-TDV6 with 255 hp/600 Nm
  • 4.4-liter LR-SDV8 with 335 hp/700 Nm
  • 3.0-liter Supercharged V6 with 340 hp
  • 5.0-liter Supercharged LR-V8 with 510 hp

The 26th of March is the day when all speculation will be laid to rest. Be sure to tune into IndianAutosBlog.com!
