VW Polo TDI variant launched in Nepal

volkswagen poloVW has launched the Polo hatchback with the TDI (diesel) engine in Nepal. Needless to say, like the petrol variants, the diesel cars will be exported from India.

The VW Polo will be distributed in Nepal by Pooja International, the official importer of VW cars. The Polo TDI has been launched in two variants - the Comfortline and the Highline.

The solid German hatchback is powered by the 1.2 litre TDI diesel engine which develops 74 bhp and 180 Nm of torque. The rated fuel economy stands at 22.07 kmpl (ARAI certified).

The Comfortline variant comes packed with features like 15" wheels, keyless entry, rear defogger and wiper, electrically adjustable ORVMs, height adjustable driver seat, rear and front fog lamps, power windows, double DIN music system, multifunction display, steering which can be adjusted for reach and rake, metallic paint and 60:40 split rear seats.

The Polo Highline variant receives all the features of the Comfortline in addition to ABS, dual airbags, alloy wheels, RCD 310 music system with USB connectivity, steering mounted controls for music system, rear parking sensors, chrome trimmings for the interior, and leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.

The VW Polo is offered with an unlimited warranty for 2 years. The Polo TDI Comfortline is priced at 3.19 million Nepalese Rupee (around Rs. 20.02 lakhs) while the Polo TDI Highline retails at 3.39 million Nepalese Rupee (around Rs. 21.27 lakhs).
