The Nissan Teana was updated yesterday for the Malaysian market. There have been a few features added to the car as well.

The most significant change is the introduction of a new Blind Spot Warning System (Volvo calls its the BLIS, Nissan will call it the BSW). The technology comes in the 2.5-liter V6 engine variant only and this marks the Teana as the first D-segment vehicle to offer such a feature.

Two 24 Ghz radar sensors are mounted on the rear bumper and they detect the moving objects in a drivers blind spot field. LED indicators installed on the rear view mirrors will then alert the driver of any activity. Should the driver fail to take notice, an alarm buzzer goes off as well.

Inside the updated Teana, an all new black interior with wood work takes its place. While the 2.0-liter variant sports beige interiors, the 2.5-liter will have the black with dark brown wood trim. Features such as leather wrapped steering wheel and console illumination have been added as well.

On the outside, the updated Teana gets new accents inside its front grille and the inner blades are in a smoked chrome color. Apart from that, there is a lip spoiler at the rear and a full body kit including side skirts (like an aero package).

The top of the line 2.5-liter V6 Teana now comes in at RM 173,100 (INR 30.38 lakhs) and there seems to be an increase of INR 1,450 over the previous one (which is hardly anything considering the added kit you get).

Nissan India’s been launching special editions and updates on its products (mostly in a silent fashion). So are they going to sneak in these changes into the Teana which hasn’t received any updates in recent times?
