A lot has been spoken about the all-new Toyota Corolla sedan. Today two images have leaked on the interweb claiming to be the new Corolla that we have been waiting so long for.

These images were taken in Poland so it is very difficult to comment whether this Corolla is American or European. We are pretty sure that this is not a Japanese/JDM model because it is a left-hand drive and the Japan follows the RHD rule.

Toyota previewed the next generation Corolla through the Concept Furia at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The similarities between the Furia Concept and the leaked images are vaguely similar. Of course, all the nice bits of the concept such as the 7-spoke alloys and chrome-plated dual exhaust have been thrown away to make room for sensible (read conservative) parts.

The front fascia is inspired by the Toyota Auris than the Concept Furia. It gets attractive angular headlamps with LED garnish, a slender grille and a sporty lower intake. Moving away from the front, sedan features an upward sweeping shoulder line and wraparound taillights that are separated by some chrome peppering.

If the concept was anything to go by, the production version should be 81.9 inches (4,620mm) long, 71 inches (1,805mm) wide and 56.1 inches (1,425mm) tall with a wheelbase that spans 106.3 inches (2700mm). It will be powered by an improved version of the same 1.8 litre petrol engine and the 1.4L diesel engine. They are likely to be mated to a 6 speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Toyota promised a radical new Corolla targeted towards the younger audience. Toyota talked about an emotional design that is very communicative. While these images reveal that a substantial work has been done on the design front, we are not quite sure if it is as energetic or youthful as the Hyundai Elantra or the Chevrolet Cruze.
