Jeep unveiled the facelifted Grand Cherokee at the NAIAS a few days ago, but before making it available across the globe, the car maker might want to push off the current Grand Cherokees from the stockyards.

Jeep has launched a limited edition model of the Grand Cherokee SRT8 called the Alpine in South Africa.

The special edition model will be limited only to 95 units and is based on the pre-facelift version of the SUV. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine will be available only in white exterior color option.

The performance SUV comes with 20" alloy wheels which sport a contrasting Black Vapor Chrome finish. In addition, the SRT8 Alpine edition also gets glossy black treatment to the traditional 7 slot grill, Jeep logo, lower air dam and LED strips.

Under the hood, the 6.4 lite HEMI V8 mill still continues to send out 462 bhp and a hefty 624 Nm of torque which propels the leviathan to ton from rest in just about five seconds. The top whack stands at 257 kmph, which is commendable for an SUV this heavy and imposing.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine edition is priced at ZAR 8,34,990 (around Rs. 51.23 lakhs) and is available now. The Jeep Grand Cherokee will enter India in the last quarter of 2013 and we expect the facelifted version to be launched here.
