The long overdue model form Ford has started reaching Ford dealerships according to a report by Wheelomania.com. However, we reckon that the cars are being sent to dealerships for the purpose of training the service personnel.

The EcoSport as we all know by now will be offered with two petrol engine options – the 1.5 litre from Fiesta and the 1.0 EcoBoost. The diesel power comes from the 1.5 litre motor which is again lifted from the Fiesta.

Wheelomania.com claims that the dual clutch automatic transmission is available only on the 1.5 litre petrol engine and it also claims that the diesel version of the EcoSport will be a bit late to arrive in the market.

While we can’t verify any of these claims now, we can say that there is still some waiting to do before the compact crossover SUV finally hits the Indian roads. Ford India is keeping the information about the launch date and variants very close to their chest.

Many potential buyers who are waiting for the EcoSport have eventually started running out of patience and it could mean that the delay would cost Ford a lot of business.

It would be stupid to offer the top engine without the top transmission. The 1.5 would have less mileage and an auto on top of that would be worse. Looking forward to the ecoboost with 6-speed auto.

Just to clarify this thing, the Ford Powershift Automatic in New Fiesta is more fuel efficient than the manual transmission.

Saw this car in dealership in chennai. Its complete package i would say!

Duster would have very tough time if ford price it nominally. Really this would be biggest launch for Indian car industry and ofcourse for ford too…!

if ford lauches the petrol model first, then it’ll be very easy for the custermers to know the ride quality and how is the space inside.
May be many of them turn towards Renault Duster.

duster is good but pricing is crap !! why do u buy a bulkier and simple interiors car for 12.5 instead choose a Verna if you need a bigger look at lesser cost and stylish interiors then choose Ecosport!

Heard that the price would be just 30-40k less the Duster base model i.e 7.1 lakhs for a sub 4 meter …..in such case its going to be a flop show…

Price difference between the two should be atleast 1 lakhs…else why someone would go for sub 4 meter…6.5 lakhs for base variant would be a instant hit..else they would feel the same pain as with Fiesta.

Duster starts at 7.1 and as expected ford is pricing 40 k lesser which is around 6.7lac and may be a further 20 k can be lesser but its Ford and a mini SUV which is much better than your Small hatch if you are ready to spend on Shock absorber and ball joints of your hatch driving in this horrible Indian roads then choose ur small one else go for this tougher Ecosport !! comparative with Hatch i referred as tougher !!

it will be very stupid of Ford if they launch it after march end. No doubt it is a blockbuster product but they would loose out on a lot of sales, that are made in march to save tax.
