Caught for the first time in such an instance near Metzingen, a city in South West Germany, fully undisguised, the 2013 Mercedes Benz E Class officially debuts at the North American International Auto Show later this month in Detroit. These images are brought to us by Mercedes-Benz Passion Blog. Test mules can still be spotted around the Sindelfingen production plant and around Untertürkheim in Stuttgart, according to their report.

Since the mid-life operation is cosmetic the car's identity is not completely new. However the front bumper looks unfamiliar. The 'Elegance' variant gets a standard four-louvre grille with a three pointed star designed as a hood ornament while the premium 'Avantgarde' variant features a central star on a thickly slabbed grille.
