The car, called as the Korando CSX, is based on the passenger carrying SX but features a flat floor in the rear instead of seats. The car can be used as a delivery vehicle or a steed for service engineers with a capability of handling bad terrain.

The Korando CSX features a flat load bay which measures 1,312 cubic litres in volume and can be accessed by a tailgate or two side doors. The car looks exactly the same as the passenger version from outside, except for the tint on the rear windows.

The load deck has a length of 152.5 cm and 96.5 cm between the wheel arches and the payload stands at 433 kg. The Korando CSX can also tow a 2 tonne trailer.

The car is powered by a 2.0 litre diesel engine which develops 149 PS of power and a healthy 360 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all the wheels via a torque on demand 4x4 system.

The light commercial vehicle comes shod with mud and snow tyres as standard fitment and has hill start assist and ESP. Other features include leather wrapped steering and gear knob, Kenwood music system with Bluetooth connectivity and six speakers.

The Ssangyong Korando CSX is priced at £ 15,995 (around Rs. 13.87 lakhs) which is cheaper than many less equipped rivals.

The passenger carrying version of the Korando SUV will be the next Ssangyong to touch down in India, sometime in 2013.
