Skoda had asked the journalists not to take pictures of the undisguised car however the Czech automaker didn't have any problems letting the car being photographed with the veil on.

The visual changes are apparent even when the car is covered. The car looks more like a grown up European Rapid and in comparison with the current generation car, it's sharper and flatter. Traditional Skoda touches like the central ridge and the sharp dents on the bonnet stay.

The headlamps are sleek and sport Daytime Running Lights (DRL). The grill obeys the guidelines of new Skoda family design along the new logo which debuted in the Skoda Rapid.

Skoda had disguised the tail lamps of the test mules to make it look like the current generation car, but the actual shape of the tail lamps feel younger and fresher. They are stretched to the side a bit farther than the current car and the trademark C-Shaped detailing is continued.

Overall, the 2013 Skoda Octavia shifts itself to the next generation of the Skoda's design philosophy.
