Mahindra launches new Scorpio Pik-Up in Brazil

Mahindra is counting on the Brazilian market to script its overseas growth story.

The Indian automaker has launched the pick-up version of the Scorpio in the Brazil with diesel technology and 4WD capability. Called as the Mahindra Pik-Up, it is launched at a starting price of 89,900 Brazilian Reals (23.80 lakhs INR). You can buy the same pickup in India if you ask for a "Scorpio Getaway" to a Mahindra dealer.

It is powered by a 2.6L turbo diesel engine that generates 110 hp at 4,000 rpm, and maximum torque of 269 Nm of torque @2,800 rpm. It is available in 4x4 which can be switched to 4x2 by flipping a switch on the dashboard.

The Mahindra pick-up measures 5.098 meters long, 1.750 meters wide and 1.942 meters high. The wheelbase is 3.040 meters and the ground clearance is 210 mm. The loading area is around 2,294 meters.

Mahindra has blessed the pick-up with remote control locks, double din audio system with USB and SD card reading abilities, power steering, air conditioning, electric door mirrors, etc.

Mahindra also has plans to introduce other products such as the XUV500, Quanto and the Genio pickup truck in the Brazilian market very soon. The automaker is discussing the possibility of having an assembly plant in Brazil for these models.
