The current Ford Fiesta sedan’s rear fascia has not been received well in some regions and Ford has taken the facelift opportunity to also revise the boot’s styling apart from giving it the Aston Martin nose.
The tail lamps are now longer with reprofiled elements and the boot lid gets slight change of shape to eliminate the awkward look of the rear.
The front fascia is reminiscent of the Ford Fiesta hatchback which was unveiled at the Paris motor show. The new look Fiesta sedan looks a lot more stylish and aggressive than the current model.
The 1.0L EcoBoost joins the current lineup of the powertrains which includes the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5L petrol motor comes with a six-speed Powershift automatic transmission as an option.
The car will make its global debut at the Sao Paulo motor show which starts on the 24th of October (Wednesday). Brazil is the first market to receive the facelifted Fiesta sedan. A top Ford India official recently told us that they will follow their own product lifecycles, which means that the facelift is only expected in 2014 or so.
