The Renault Fluence may not have set the sales chart on fire but it certainly worked as a brand builder for Renault in India whose first innings here was rather unforgettable.

The Fluence looks handsome with a tinge of French quirkiness but the diesel variant’s lack of usual gizmos made most of the entry level D segment customers look elsewhere.

Renault responded promptly and added more features to the diesel variant and imparted better drivability to the diesel motor in another update.

The Fluence made its global debut in 2009 and it’s about time it receives a facelift. We have been tracking the progress of the facelift very closely and had already presented the news to our readers about the spyshots of the mule, facelift pictures of its close cousin Samsung SM3 and even a leak.

A partly camouflaged Fluence test mule was again caught testing in Turkey. Renault was interested in concealing only the car’s snout and the boot. The Fluence is expected to get the front grill design from the Concept Zoe and this design has already debuted in the fourth generation Clio.

Revisions for better ergonomics is expected on the center console and powertrain options shall remain unchanged.

The 2013 Renault Fluence may either be unveiled at the Paris motor show or launch at the Geneva 2013.
