Ssangyong has confirmed that it will participate in the Moscow Motor Show, and launch two vehicles for the European markets.

The 16th Moscow International Motor Show opens on the 27th of this month and runs until the 30th. Several companies are using the show as a platform to introduce new vehicles and facelifts for the European region.

The first vehicle Ssangyong will introduce is the new Chairman, a luxury sedan based off an old Mercedes platform. The second vehicle, one that interests us, is the Rexton W, testing of which has also started in India.

The Rexton facelift features eye-catching exterior features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs and a redesigned chrome grille.

The redesigned Rexton W is an important vehicle for Ssangyong to establish a foothold in the SUV market. Ssangyong has introduced a new 2-liter turbodiesel engine with 154bhp, with a 20% betterment in fuel economy in the Korean market, which is expected to be a step forward in improving sales. We have to wait to see if there are mechanical changes to the European-spec vehicle.

Autoblog.es blogs that the response to the Chairman may not be positive in Russia, despite leather-trimmed interiors and wood fixtures introduced exclusively for customers in that part of the world. Product managers will be holding their breath in anticipation.

We'll fill you in on the cars at the Moscow International Motor Show, so stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog.
