In these last three years, the Maruti Suzuki Autocar Young Driver Contest has been cultivating good road safety habits among the Indian youth. The hunt is on for a winner this year too, with a Maruti Suzuki A-Star given away as a grand prize. Participants will be put through four rounds of tests that include theoretical and practical challenges.

Here’s the awesome bit – Of all participants, 20 finalized candidates will be flown to Delhi for the grand finale where one winner will be crowned ‘Maruti Suzuki – Autocar Young Driver of the year 2012.’

This contest is open to all individuals, across India, between the age of 18 and 30, with a valid Indian driving license.

Head over to www.youngdriver.in to learn all the details of the competition. There have been plenty of exciting testimonials from past participants, so don’t miss out!

Indian Autos Blog’s take on road safety

Road safety is not an option, though many young motorists today feel it is. With cars becoming a lot more safer and fun to drive, the responsibility to drive safe is often forgotten or compromised. Its not hard to fathom that two-wheeler commuters, pedestrians and fellow car owners have a family to go back to. A bit of rash driving could leave your conscience with a scar for a lifetime.

Chennai readers of IndianAutosBlog.com were taught the exact same lessons in the Ford Driving Skills for Life program held a few months ago. The Maruti Suzuki Autocar Young Driver Contest provides an excellent opportunity for motorists across India to learn and practice safe driving, and possibly drive away a Maruti A-Star!
