Dr. Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW Group India with the MINI CooperOur Mumbai representative was half way there when the car he was driving (a rival brand) decided to shut down. He's in a more broken down state than his car now as live updates from any car or brand launch is pure oxygen to our blog and to us as well. We're devising a backup plan to tackle such emergencies in the future.

MINI India appointed Infinity Cars as its first exclusive MINI dealership in Mumbai today. MINI is available in 99 countries around the world and India is 100th country to sell the iconic British brand that was acquired by BMW and spiritually upgraded for the 21st century.

MINI was launched in India at the Auto Expo three months ago.

The three carlines available as CBU are the MINI Hatch, MINI Convertible and MINI Countryman range. They are equipped with a petrol engine paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Infinity Cars, the first exclusive showroom for MINI, is located at Linking Road in Mumbai. It has a display area for upto five cars.

MINI cars (ex-showroom prices)

  • MINI Cooper - INR 25,50,000
  • MINI Cooper S - INR 28,60,000
  • MINI Cooper Convertible - INR 30,70,000
  • MINI Cooper S Countryman - INR 32,80,000
  • MINI Cooper S Countryman High - INR 35,90,000

MINI India will open shops in other cities this year. The company does not have a diesel engine in its range at the moment and the local assembly of certain products using the Chennai plant can bring down prices. But will MINI use that option?
