Indian Autos Blog reader Rajesh Dogra has captured images of the new Swift Dzire as it was being unloaded from its container in Jammu today. The new Dzire has already started marching towards dealer yards and the launch is expected to unfold in the weeks ahead or dare I say days ahead.
The interior of the new Dzire is laid out in the same manner as the Swift. Features such as steering-mounted audio controls, dual tone dashboard, five-speed manual transmission….to capsule it, the interior is a photocopy of the Swift’s!
Maruti has neatly differentiated the sedan from the hatch using a new grille, triangular fog lamp modules and unique wheel caps.
The spyshot provides answers to questions on the branding we raised this afternoon. Thankfully the new car will continue running under the same name.
We’ve already discussed the engine options in a previous post – 1.2-liter K Series petrol engine and 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced Multi-jet engine will stay on providing the motive force. The new Dzire is shorter compared to the current model, with length under four meters to take advantage of the excise benefits the government offers for cars that are under four meters long.
The Dzire nameplate is not very old (has existed only since Q1 2008) but the waiting periods are very long, especially for the diesel model. We’ll have to wait and see if Maruti offers more options on the powertrain front such as an AT option on the incoming car.

Hi, I am residing at Port Blair (Andaman), and as such I have booked Swift Dzire ZDI three months before at Port Blair Maruti Agency, but till date my booked car is not alloted for the reason not known to me. So I kindly request the concern to do the needful to allot the said booked care as early as possible so that the customer like me not dissappointed

Not able to differentiate whether its a sedan or hatch back car. Worst rear design and best front design. Back should be extended little bit to complete the design. No idea why Suzuki not considering Indians design taste and concentrating more on milage and price. This is the reason people dont like the design of IndigoCS. Performance wise it should excellent because its Suzuki engine:)).

Well, Dzire has been a winner in its Segment since its launch way back in 2008 and by looking at the way, it has been crafted now simply says “Yes I Was A Winner, I Am The Winner And Will Be A Winner In Future”

Maruti is considering to price the dzire at what it is right now (even the new one) at about 8.9 lacs for zDi. At this price its not a value add considering manza at 9.3 OTR bangalore or sunny at 9.8 OTR bangalore. The boot is also not low lipped, but starts at boot lid level itself (no depth). if you stand exactly at the side of the car the looks are ridiculous which shows maruti did not get it right. however from an angle or the back its ok. rear space they say is higher, for passengers, and after seeing sunny which is the current benchmarks, this looks childish. yes its a maruti and it will sell. but imagine paying 9 lac for a 1.3 75 bhp engine versus sunny’s 9.8 for a 1.5 litre 90bhp. obviously the value is more on the latter.

the new seift dzire looks much better in terms of its exterior and interior styling…the Current one had a ugly looking boot and simply looked out of proportion…but not to forget that it is the hottest selling car…but i think that maruti should reduce waiting periods on their cars apecially swift hatchback & compact sedan have a very long waiting period…with size reduced to sub4 meters maruti is going to have a great response to the car as the pricing will be lesser than before
Would the tax benefits be passed onto the customers?
It was said that the new version would be priced around similar to the existing Dzire.
Does that mean instead of reducing the prices Maruti would offer features on the cars and make them more appealing?
Old Dzire would still be sold in lower trims, which probably could be targeted at the Taxi market.
it means they can offer more features and technology for the same price!
Should sell the current sedan as Dzire Plus as there is a strong demend.

Better then the current one at every corner, interior is much better then any Maruties next to Kizashi. But still can’t be able to digest the rear, although better then current Dezire, but… :/. By the way what is the boot capacity?

Rear styling is much better now much like Nissan Teana… Interiors look good with black beige interior combinations.. Is the 1.4 petrol expected
