VW is all set to launch the new edition of Passat in India on the 29th of March. The new Passat will have VW’s trademark Blue Motion technology which includes a host of features that makes the car very fuel efficient.
These features are:
• Fuel efficient engine
• Start-Stop technology
• Gear shift indicator
• Particulate filter
• DSG dual clutch gear box
• Rolling resistance tyres
• Extra lightweight wheels
• Low-friction drive shafts.
The new Passat will be offered in 2 engine options
• 1.8 TSI petrol engine with 157.8 bhp
• 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 170 bhp
Both engines will be mated to manual or DSG transmissions.
With the car, VW will also launch a ‘Think Blue’ campaign for eco-friendly vehicles. The campaign succeeds the ‘Think Small’ campaign that was launched for the VW Polo.

We will launch the all new edition of Passat in the Indian market by March 2011. It will be launched at the same time as the ‘Think Blue’ campaign is introduced in the country.
Although the prices are not revealed yet, we expect the car to be priced in and around 23 lakh rupees approximately.
