The official unveiling of the new BMW 5-Series is not very far away, and before you get to look at the actual car, Auto Express has prepared a drawing of how the car is going to look.
The controversial Bangle touches have been shed, the new design is conservative, but elegant. Design wise, the 5 Series will look very close to the 7 Series and the Concept CS. The interiors will be very close to the recently launched 5-Series GT.
BMW has also added four-wheel steering to the new 5 Series. An active rear differential is also on the list of technologies.

Scheduled to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010, the new VW Jetta is heavily inspired by the VW Golf. The Golf’s front fascia will be carried over to the new Jetta, while the interiors and engines are expected to stay the same. The rendering here depicts exactly how the new vehicle will look. Frankly, the existing Jetta’s fascia isn’t its high point.
The Jetta has been big success story for VW in US and Canada, and the credit belongs to the clean diesel technology under the hood. While the VW is catching up with the Altis, Civic and Laura in terms of sales in India, the facelift will help in giving a breath of fresh air to the Jetta.
The Honda CBF Stunner is a unique addition to the 125cc range of bikes in India. With its sharp cowl and slightly tuned engine, the CBF Stunner shows no signs of its Shine-derived architecture. Naturally, this will prompt existing customers to explore the possibility of fitting performance parts to their bikes and here’s something that will interest them.
Leovince, a UK-based performance parts maker, has unveiled a new exhaust system for the CBF Stunner. The press release says by adding the kit, you get -
- 10% torque increase.
- 10% power increase.
- Weight saving.
- ‘Superb’ sound
Once the kit is installed, maximum power is increased from 10.8 to 11.7bhp and between 3500rpm and 5200rpm, torque gains are as high as 40%!
Coming to the price of the kit – £350 (Rs 27,212) inc vat.

The ugly not-so-good-looking Hyundai Verna facelift launched earlier in Korea, will make its Indian debut shortly, reports Motoroids.
Ever since the launch back in 2005, new variants of the Verna have not been in shortage but the company is yet to give it a proper facelift. And after the arrival of a revamped SX4 and Fiesta, Hyundai’s think tank would be prompted to give a fitting reply by applying cosmetics to its ticket.
The arrival of the VW Polo sedan and Fiat Linea variants among others at the Auto Expo, should be another excuse for sending the Verna under the surgeon’s knife.
What we are not sure of is the facelift itself. The car’s front-end is inches away from resembling the masked bipedal alien’s face in the movie Predator.
Ironically, it self destructs itself after it is captured by its enemy.

Glance at this motorcycle and you’ll understand two things -
1) It looks like an exact interpretation of a dirt biker’s dream.
2) It won’t be cheap.
This is the KTM-Bajaj 125cc motorcycle that’s heading to the Auto Expo in Delhi next year. Developed by the same team which did the Duke 690, this yet to be named 125cc bike isn’t anywhere near your 125cc commutes on any aspect.
Equipped with Brembo disc brakes, the bikes will use a single cylinder 125cc engine good for 15hp. The engine will be a four valve DOHC (Double Over Head Camshafts) type with liquid cooling and fuel injection, so we don’t expect the cost to be under a lakh of rupees.
The diesel and electric variants are coming up in the next few years
Though Tata Motors is having plans to sell the Nano variants overseas, it is looking at satisfying demands in our country first before taking its innovation to Europe, Africa or even America.
Tata Group Director Jamshed J Irani -
We are testing the waters, but we have no immediate plan to go abroad
Tata is apparently working on an electric powertrain for the Nano. This is apart from a 2 cylinder CRDI engine and a more powerful 3 cylinder gasoline engine. Tata is also planning to bolt start-stop technology to the Nano, which will enable it to return higher fuel economy figure.
