Here are some of the details discussed during the launch -

- Zotye began their operations in China in the year 2005

- Premier will bring more Zotye products in the future into India as CKDs

- The Rio is expected to return a fuel economy figure of 16-18kmpl

- 500 vehicles will be assembled in the company’s facility every month

- Premier is using a 1,500cc diesel engine, adopted from Peugeot, that delivers 65bhp.

- The company will sell the car in BS3 spec till the regulations come in next year, which is when it will upgrade satisfy demands.

    The revolution ends. Quality on this thing is very downgrade. The fuel lever and the power window switches seem from the time of the Ford Model T.

    I Think This is Going to be a revolution as Diahatsu technology is very good in diesel as they have charade also that i am waiting for good news for economy lovers

    Please let your readers know that Daihatsu may have nothing to do with this car. They either sold the tooling to ZOyte or in keeping with Chinese new age trad (Indian for that matter)…they copied body panels and stuck them on a birdcage frame which will use the occupants as crumple zones. If Daihatsu sold this then they would have been an expectation of a modicum of safety…not with the players here…they would have engineered out the safety.

    some of it is my opinion but then presenting the facts is your job.

    if nano is safe then why not this brother?this is a bold move which will open new segment,toyota is already planning for avanza.i read somwhere rio is selling 1 lac unit per year.
