INDIA (September 16, 2009) – Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd. announced the release of the all-new X-TRAIL sport utility vehicle (SUV) today.
The new X-TRAIL, the first fully redesigned vehicle since its introduction in 2004, is engineered to be a tough, versatile SUV that stimulates a driver’s spirit of adventure.
The original Nissan X-TRAIL was developed with the goal of providing customers with a versatile four-passenger, four-wheel drive vehicle. Since its launch, the popular X-TRAIL has been noted for its superior performance, functionality and authentic SUV experience. The all-new X-TRAIL promises to take the SUV experience to an even higher level, maintaining the original’s tough, rugged design while adding elements that maximize owners’ enjoyment of outdoor sports.
X-TRAIL’s “toughness” is highlighted by its enhanced all-weather capability, provided by Nissan’s latest electronically controlled four-wheel drive (4WD) system, the ALL MODE 4×4-i. This new system enhances stability by instantaneously analyzing information received from a steering angle sensor, a yaw rate sensor and a lateral accelerometer, to estimate the driver’s cornering path and control front/rear torque split for smooth cornering behaviour on slippery road surfaces. Also new for this generation X-TRAIL are the Hill Descent Control (HDC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) features. All three systems are designed to provide peace of mind for the driver through superior control and stability.
Additionally, X-TRAIL’s hallmark high quality and outstanding utility have been enhanced with added convenience and storage features. Highlights of the restyled interiors include the use of new water-repellant materials and a larger, washable two-deck luggage compartment.
INDIA (September 16, 2009) – Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd today announced the launch of its fully redesigned, luxury sedan TEANA in India.
With its modern styling, impressive comfort and thoughtful appointments for all passengers, the TEANA has been designed and engineered to provide lasting value in a modern luxury sedan.
The new TEANA offers a number of significant “firsts” – including being the first Nissan model in the Indian market, which fully utilizes the newly developed Nissan’s advanced “D” platform to provide a flat and comfortable ride to the passenger. TEANA is the first in its class to feature a stylish glass roof, extending the open, airy feeling of the interior to the rear-seat area.
Defined by its bold yet elegant character line, which forms a sweeping arc extending from the front to the rear of the vehicle, TEANA’s new, meticulously executed exterior design presents a modern, artistic form.
There’s a lot of confusion surrounding the Hyundai ix-metro. Does it have a connection to the i20 MPV? Our pal Gustavo Ruffo who is supplying all these images says its likely not the case and further, the i20 MPV would not need its concept as it is simply the extension of the i20 platform.
That should not take away anything from the ix-metro as its looks will flatter you. It’ll fool you too – in digital it looks like the i10, in flesh it is close to i20 size. The posing model has long legs, mind you.
What is not feasible on a production model is often exercised by its concept – the ix-metro has its share of strictly-concept features like the B-Pillarless design and sliding rear door that offer easier access in crowded places. The engine of the ix-metro is a direct injection 1.0-liter petrol that uses a motor to provide 170Nm torque to the spinning wheels.

With minor exterior revisions in the form of new front and rear bumpers, the Fiat Grande Punto Evo’s biggest change comes under the hood and inside the cabin. With a more stylish dashboard, improved seats and larger storage compartment, the Punto Evo is getting better where it should.
Typical of a Fiat, the Evo is loaded with gadgets and the new kid on the block – Blue&Me-TomTom – combines telephone, navigation and other functions into a touch screen.
This car will play host to the second generation Multijet engine and Multiair petrol engine. The Multiair petrol offers ten percent more power, fifteen percent more torque but consumes ten percent less fuel. Won’t Indians love such an invention? They would, if the end-product is priced correctly.
Further, the Punto Evo is installed with a start-stop system which the Bravo and 500 recently welcomed.
The revamped Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with its macho styling is one of the delights at the Frankfurt Show this year. Leaked shots and spec sheets have not prompted Toyota to go low-key with the Prado’s launch. They’ve still come out to Germany and put their Fortuner-engined Prado on display.
Yes, you heard that right – The Toyota Prado comes with a 3.0-litre D-4D turbo common rail diesel engine coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission. It produces 171bhp at 3,400rpm and maximum torque of 410Nm between 1,600 and 2,800rpm.
A ground breaking feature on the Prado is the Multi-terrain Select, which automatically controls power and braking according to the off-road surface, while providing you live video feeds through the four cameras placed around the car!
The official press release says the vehicle goes on sale in Britain from the 1st of December 2009. No word on the Indian launch date, but we think it is around the corner, an official announcement can be expected shortly.
