The Agile stemmed in Brazil and quietly is making in roads in Asia. The sedan version of the Agile (probably the Aveo U-VA in the future) once again was caught testing in Chinese streets. When it was spied the first time, we even went to the extent of making Chevrolet Agile sedan rendering.

While we don’t know if these are the U-VA and Aveo replacements, the low-cost platform nonetheless is being put to good use. This car will be sold as the next generation Chevrolet Sail in China.

Codenamed Sail NB NGS, NB stands for notchback and NGS for New Global Car, it is a cheaper version of the Aveo sedan.

Interesting, the Spark is stationed below the existing Aveo in India. Now that the next generation Spark is ready, we assume it will be priced around the Aveo’s range (4.5 lakh and upward).

If GM India brings the Agile in, where would they position it? I don’t think positioning it around the Jazz-i20 range would bring them any fortunes (at least not on the long run) since the Agile looks very plain and no-frills to me.

I have a gut feeling the Aveo and U-VA will be taken out and the Agile and Agile sedan will take up the task.

Chevrolet Agile official teasers -

Meanwhile in Argentina, General Motors has release two images of the Chevrolet Agile with full camouflage. Twenty models were used for several crash tests and over 150 prototypes clocked a million miles to determine reliability, the press release read.

Aston_Martin_Rapide- 6

Forget the low resolution, colorless leaked official pictures of the Aston Martin Rapide. Here’s the real deal – Non-camouflaged close-up shots of the 4-door Aston that debuts at the Frankfurt Motor show next month.

The 4-door Aston is deployed to wipe out the Porsche Panamera and the upcoming Estoque (if it does come) from Lamborghini. Powered by a 470HP 6.0-liter V12 engine delivering about 600Nm torque, the Rapide’s rapid acceleration will get rapider with the new V12 engine in the future sourced from Mercedes Benz.

In what looks like a parking lot of a road side restaurant, a couple of fully disrobed Rapides were photographed, accompanied by another partly camouflaged car.

I’m not sure if the drivers of these cars were bribed. How come they allowed someone to open the doors and pick up some snaps?

Either it was that, or the drivers forgot what they were driving and their duties.

Or they were drunk.

:P

Good for us though. Click on the thumbnails for hi-res images.

Tata Indica Vista Ignis with ABS and airbags arrives

Not yet, but very soon, as these spy shots propose, the Indica Vista Ignis with steering mounted controls, Airbags, ABS and a 1.4-liter SAFIRE engine is galloping our way.

Tata’s Vista Ignis will have Fiat Linea’s 1.4-liter petrol engine capable of delivering 95PS. Currently, the petrol Vista uses a 1.2-liter engine with 65 PS rating from the same family, which isn’t underpowered, but taking stock of what the the competition offers, the 1.4-liter variant could ignite Vista sales.

On the other hand, Tata Motors is known better for its diesel engines. The Safari petrol bombed, the Indica XETA could not hold a candle, and the Indigo and Marina petrols were nothing more than faint attempts to change the diesel-only image. Tata even offered a staggering 100hp Indigo XL limousine, which found minuscule success.

Could the Ignis mark a new era in Tata Motors’ petrol offerings? You tell us.

Gadget – Dark Knight Motorcycle suit

If you’re not featuring as a superhero in a Hollywood movie, you won’t be wearing this. But c’mon, this is totally wacky and deserves a place on our front page.

Someone loved the Dark Knight movie so much that he went out, brought some materials home and stitched up his own merchandise!

A suit like this is worn by Christian Bale in the movie. But in the real world, only if you were affected by skin disease, would you wear such protective clothing.

Update – we just learned this is an official replica piece. But sorry, we’re not editing our original thoughts.

As we reported before, the all-new Hyundai Tucson was caught during its TV commercial shoot. Today we have some fresh and close-up pictures revealing more of the car.

The next generation Hyundai Tucson will be powered by a line of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines and also be equipped with Hyundai’s brand-new six-speed automatic transmission.

Breaking – Michael Schumacher isn’t coming back

We wish this isn’t true.

Michael Schumacher announced he will not return to F1 to fill up the injured Filipe Massa’s space in the Ferrari for the rest of the season.

The 40-year old German’s neck is proving to be a painful, and admits he would not be able to take the forces sent through his body in an accelerating F1 car.

Schumacher had a fall from his motorcycle in February this year and injured his neck.

Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer will take the place of Schumacher.

Exclusive Rendering – Chevrolet Spark sedan

According to our Brazilian car expert Gustavo, the Onix project will be GM’s biggest investment in Brazil. The Onix project revolves around the new Chevrolet Spark, and a sedan is among the variants.

I presume GM India would not remain silent for very long after introducing the new Spark. They will advance by manipulating its platform to make a sedan, which will slug it out with the Swift Dzire, Indigo Vista and Renault Logan.

Before our photoshop wonder lad embarked on drawing this car, I was very skeptical. Initially I did not feel a sedan based on a short wheelbase+tall car would bring out eye candy.

But he’s proved me wrong.

No details are available at this point on the Spark sedan. Perhaps it will have powerful engines and automatic gearbox option when it goes on sale in India in the next five years?

One of our close followers who lives in Pune, claims he spotted a densely camouflaged 2010 Mercedes Benz E350 (pictured) in the Mumbai-Pune expressway hours back.

Koushal Ghokle explains he spotted the densely camouflaged 2009 Mercedes Benz E-Class with an E350 badge. He also says that the car was fully camouflaged with white sheets all over the body except for the grille and rear boot lid area.

Its significant connection to the S-Class, is more evident when seen in flesh, explains our spotter. He adds the interiors were nothing special and compared to the images of the Euro-spec E-Class, it is considerably toned down and in beige, looked similar to the C-Class from the outside.
