Thanks to the tardiness of the British authorities, the Tata Indica Vista EV is having to put up with battles even before its introduction in the U.K. In Europe however, things are just the opposite.
Tata Motors plans to begin selling the Indica Vista EV next year in Spain during the month of August, and prices will start at 24,000 Euros.
The lithium ion batteries and electric motor on the Vista EV extend a maximum power of 75 hp. It is coupled to an automatic transmission that helps it reach a top speed of 110kph. The Vista’s acceleration is not in the space shuttle territory, but a time period of 9 sec for 0-50 kph is adequate within city limits.
Our South Korean follower Park, sent in this informative link. The car you see here will be sold in India as an upgrade to the existing Chevrolet Spark, come this December. In India it will be sold as a Chevrolet, but in Korea, it will be sold as a Daewoo.
The GM-Daewoo Spark Groove was spied in South Korea. The images show that this is an Automatic gearbox variant.
Glance at the party pixeled rear number plate. What do you think “2011.5.14″ is doing there?
The Chevrolet Cruze is sold as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere in South Korea, so one cannot imagine ‘Groove’ to be carried over on the re-badged vehicles. In India, GM could either go the Maruti Suzuki way and name the car after its concept ‘Beat,’ or use put a suffix to the word Spark.

News about the Hyundai i10 diesel is sparse, the last time we heard about such a thing was a few months back. Reports claimed the diesel car would come in two variants – one with a 1.4-liter diesel and another with a minuscule 1.1-liter CRDI engine.
Now a Iranian publication, Iran Daily, reports a 1.2-liter diesel i10 is ready to be unleashed.
Plonking a diesel engine in a i10 would make it at least 25% more costly than the petrol model. The line-up then would need re-working as large scale cannibalization would happen, the i20, Getz and the i10 Kappa could find themselves in a spot of bother.
The best way out of this situation is for Hyundai to wait for the diesel Chevrolet Spark, and our source in Japan tells us Suzuki’s A-Star is getting ready for a diesel engine next year. Hyundai could use the plot of these manufacturers to carefully device the i10 diesel’s price strategy.
There is a fake perception floating that the Linea is just a booted Grande Punto and its interiors are no different.
The Linea’s cabin is skilfully designed – from the outside you would never estimate its interior dimensions. This car, by our reckoning, is much more spacious than the Grande Punto. Here is what we found out.
Leg room in the front is ample, I am sure even six footers would be able to drive with ease. Even with the seats pushed fully backward, there is decent room for the rear passenger behind the seat. The headroom in all possible seating areas is first-class and never an issue.

The Porsche Panamera is heading towards India by the end of this year, it’ll find plenty of buyers for its unique design, and the whole concept of a 4 door, 4 seat supercar. If not anything else, the Mercedes Benz CLS and even cars like the 7 Series in India would be alarmed, it has what it takes, and something extra above that, to divert traffic from other brand dealerships.
The rear-wheel drive Panamera S does the 0 to 60 sprint in 5.2 seconds and runs out of steam only at 175 mph (281 km/h), while the All Wheel Drive Panamera 4S can do the 60mph run in 4.8 seconds and tops out at the same 175 mph mark.
Armed with Porsche’s new PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the Panamera S and 4S are powered by a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine which generates 400 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 500Nm of peak torque from 3,500 to 5,000 rpm.

GM’s mass market car for emerging markets – The Chevrolet Agile, has been featured on IAB numerous times, mostly in the form of spyshots. But not many of us got to see the interiors until now.
The car was caught in San Antonio de Areco (Argentina). Despite the reflections in the images, you can see that the Agile is banking on a design code than we see quite often in Chevrolet’s compact segment. Besides the large seat bolsters, the seat is well inclined with projections for under-thigh support.
Also note the circular air-vents, which has become quite common in all small cars. The gear shift position and the high placement of the air conditioning system is similar to the layout in Chevrolet Captiva SUV.
Among other details you might also notice that the steering wheel is three spoked, which is going to be the trend in the new generation models yet to come from GM.
This is interesting. A word of advise to the British Authorities – Tata walked out of Singur in West Bengal (after setting up a few thousand crore infrastructure for rolling out the Nano) since politics prevailed over the ownership of a part of that plant. Tata Motors is not the type that would stick around and settle for any compromises.
Back in April this year, Tata Motors was sanctioned to receive a loan of 10m pounds from the UK government. The loans would be used up to install a production line that would roll out the Indica Vista EV for domestic consumption.
A few days back, Tata was told it would take 8 more weeks before the business department of the UK govt looks into the case and comes to a decision of handing over the money or not.
