In the latest of a series of upgrades, Bajaj has launched India’s fastest bike the new Pulsar 220 DTSFi. Capable of reaching a top speed of 144kmph, this mean machine would dethrone the current speed kings, the HH Karizma/Yamaha YZF-R15.
Now the interesting bit; the new model comes at a discounted price of Rs. 70,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs 15,000 less than the outgoing one. Isn’t it icing on the cake!
Bajaj is targeting two birds with one stone – setting the performance benchmark and by reducing the cost/exporting this bike, make it available to a wider range of customers.

We have tried and answered questions that magazines and blogs could not have even thought of. Though readers might term this comparison useless and pointless, for someone really confused as to which car is better, that one answer, that one defining moment might be reached while reading this review.
Parking Space! Oh no! Why didn’t we think of that?
Ritesh’s Mumbai condo garage has space only for two cars. While his very own Honda Civic occupies half of the garage space, the other half is the prize for the Jetta or the Laura to win!
We were granted cars by the respective manufacturers, but were left with space for only one car. So we devised a simple contest- only the car worthy to occupy the parking space stays.

Our photoshop chap SRK is back at what he does best. His latest rendering is a car that promises to get Tata back into action in the Utility Vehicles segment, if not anything else. It is none other that the Tata Indicruz!
Besides the rendering, sources tell us that the new Tata Indicruz (which is based on the old Xover concept) is a derivative of the Indigo Marina.

I don’t think if you release a Suzuki Swift with new wheel covers and dashboard color customers would flock showrooms and book one of himself and one for his wife. What we need Suzuki to give us is a proper facelift for the Swift with new headlamps, bumpers and interiors.
The addition of beige upholstery isn’t going help very much, is it?
GDI or Gasoline Direct Injection is what high-end cars like Audi and Mercedes Benz benefit from. Not any more, as our very own Bajaj has come out with an autorickshaw with a GDI engine!
We shall not go into the fluid dynamics and thermodynamics of a GDI engine and explain its advantages over a Throttle body injected or carbureted petrol engine.
The bottom line is GDI is a much advanced form of fuel injection and has superior advantages over the regular setups, by delivering higher power, lower emissions (50% lower carbon monoxide, 25% less HC, NOx) and better fuel efficiency.

Hyundai is getting ready with a whole fleet of designs. They are planning to bring out new face-lifted editions or the next generation models into the market in the near future.
To begin with they have the i20 mini MPV. This is being designed by the Hyundai’s European Design Centre at Russelsheim (Germany). It is likely that the i20 MPV shares its platform with the Kia YN minivan, showcased at Geneva Auto Show.

The engineers at Porsche never seem to let the competition rest. Just months after coming out with the face-lifted Cayman and Boxter range, they are onto the development of the next generation Cayman.
The brand new Cayman and Boxster should be expected to be ready by late 2011. The Cayman will be wider and handling should improve considerably. The new Porsche Cayman should come with the same flat-6 engine with minimal changes.
Four cylinder engines are also rumored, which cannot be ruled out.

You all got it right! It is the Toyota Land Cruiser!
@niel – we will be driving the Fortuner shortly, so you can expect a report a little later
Recession or no recession, big, humongous SUVs will survive. They are like cockroaches. They can survive a nuclear attack and talk about it.
The King of the SUVs makes even the most respectable and rugged off-roaders in India seem like its queen. The big bad Toyota Land Cruiser is here in India and Toyota gave us a few days to flirt with this V8 diesel monster which could take on anything in its path.
