Spied yet again – 2010 Fiat Uno

The Fiat Uno’s successor illustrated and spied on previous occasions (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 times), is placed right under our spotlight once again.

Small cars make up the bulk of sales in India, this one looks and feels like an able challenger to the WagonR and Estilo with its simple, low cost styling- two reasons why Fiat should bring this to India, and two good ones.

Of all small cars in the Fiat line-up, this would be the cheapest, positioned under the Panda and sold throughout Europe with safety features like Airbags as standard fitment. The 2010 Fiat Uno could use a sub-1000cc engine mated to a 5-speed transmission.

This 2010 Fiat Uno is the first of the many such small cars from all major automakers including Hyundai, Ford, Mitsubishi and Honda.

It is true! Honda’s city car rivaling the Toyota iQ and Smart Fortwo is a smaller version of the proven Honda Jazz.

Honda’s mini car dreams have got us dreaming. Honda, I think is emulating the Honda City’s strategy meaning a smaller version of the flagship car. In the mini car’s case it is the Jazz with the guiding light.

The mini Jazz could go on sale as early as 2011 reports say, which is very unlikely considering the high level of work required to bring out a car. It could take a year longer than that, but then this is Honda, and they are capable of anything.

At the Annual General Meeting of Tata Motors, reports say Ratan Tata reinstated what he said at the Mumbai launch on 23rd March. The U.S-spec version will travel American roads after satisfying all the safety and environmental requirements in two years time.

The intentions of the salt-to-software conglomerate in Thailand is not very different. Tata plans to set up a large scale production plant in Thailand and use it as a base to manufacture the Nano for ASEAN countries. The dates have not been confirmed, but it could happen in the next three years.

Rendering – 2010 Chevrolet Viva/Aveo

This is the mostly how the 2010 Chevrolet Viva/Aveo, which was spied by multiple sources on one occasion even at the Nurburgring, would look like.

The 2010 Chevrolet Viva/Aveo will share its platform with the new Chevrolet Spark (Gamma 2). The duo will share many design cues, one could even consider the Viva as new Spark older brother.
