The Tata Nano coverage on Indian Autos Blog was unlike any other blog or magazine and during our visit to the car’s press conference at the Taj Mahal Hotel, we could talk to the R&D heads of Tata Motors backstage, where the idea of this rendering originated, represented here by our reader Baji.
One of them, Dr.Clive Hickman, Managing Director, Tata Motors European Technical Centre told us how he always wished the Indian Nano as a two-door car and how Ratan Tata almost immediately every time was against it.
Dr.Clive Hickman spoke to us for a lengthy duration during the cocktail party at the Mumbai Gymkhana grounds the same night when the car was formally announced. It was then Dr.Hickman told us there would be a number of variants of the Nano, but refused to talk more about it.

The new Skoda Laura is in India and Indian Autos Blog was there to witness every moment of it. We’re talking about the glitzy launch function ladies and gentlemen, where stars from the silver screen, the lead members of Skoda and the new Laura glittered and delighted, followed by party involving all of them which went well into the night.
To kick start proceedings, a musical drama brilliantly executed by a group of professional and talented artists gracefully introduced the new Laura on to the stage. That set up the evening, and the party was a mad mad one!
We’ve gotten back with a cargo of images (93 of them to be precise) so you’ll understand what got us all excited.
The launch was spectacular and the car, well, we’ll tell you about it another day. We’ll file a test drive report later in the month (we’ve got the Skoda Superb test drive part 3 coming up together with the BMW X3 review), so you’ve got to wait a bit longer for this one.
The best way to sum it is Skoda knows how exactly to celebrate the introduction of a new model.
Their company staff were bubbling with enthusiasm and energy which spread to all of us through the atmosphere. No, really.

wait for Heidi Klum to appear or visit her directly at the Heidi Klum and VW Polo Image Gallery
German model Heidi Klum, is said to be very choosy when it comes to cars. She has done a few photograph sessions with VW’s Tiguan, Eos Coupe, and Scirocco for their respective catalogs, but never has really associated herself to these cars.
Now though, she claims to have developed a liking for the New VW Polo after Volkswagen has introduced something called ‘Campaign communication’.
Heidi Klum was seen strolling near the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia in order to drive the new Volkswagen Polo. Despite not being given a chance to drive the car, she complemented the Polo as “the best of all time, cost effective, sexy short, the ideal car”

Suzuki Netherlands has issued a recall of Swifts manufactured in Hungary between first quarter of 2005 and third quarter of 2007. Oxidation of metal portion near the boot lid along with moisture during the rainy season could lead to a short circuit in the brake light wiring, Suzuki said. The recall pertains to 12,000 cars.

We got the feeling the Dutch were terrible at their math, but the figure published on Auto Telegraaf has been confirmed. 10 million Suzuki Altos have found homes across the globe since the beginning in 1979. 10 million!
This is a feat by no means gentle or ordinary. How many cars have reached this stage of the game? The Suzuki Alto lives to see three decades, and the sales figures continue to grind away setting new records.
More number of Suzuki Altos are present on Indian roads than any other car. Maruti sells three generations of Altos in India under the names 800, Alto and A-Star.
