Tata Motors has just decided to allot land to its 55-odd Nano parts vendors at Sanand in Gujarat. The vendors have been asked to set up facilities by October so that the Nano can roll out from the Sanand factory by Jan 2010. A Tata spokesperson said “More than 60% of the Sanand plant construction work is over”

The previewing concept of the Audi Q3 Cross Coupe was displayed today in Audi’s stall at the Barcelona Motor Show. It was accompanied by a ‘strange’ 5-cylinder engined 340Bhp, Audi TT RS.
As Audi mentioned earlier, the production version of the Q3 will be built in Barcelona at the VW Group’s Martorelli plant in 2011.

Yet another Fiat Uno rendering has emerged. Compared to Jorge’s futuristic rendering (shown earlier), this one has a better chance of being the next Fiat Uno, as it resembles the spy pictures in size and shape.
Codenamed the Project 327, the new Uno will share its platform with the next-generation Panda. It will come with Airbags and other safety equipment as standard, and feature fresh interiors like the Fiat 500 (but only in Europe).

Our friends over at Autoblog Spanish have confirmed to us that the Tata Nano Europa will cost € 4,000 in Spain next year. As we reported earlier, Tata’s present at the Barcelona show with a host of cars and announced the Nano’s price during the car’s presentation, just minutes ago. The car will be available in the market by the end of 2010.
In addition to that, the Indica Vista will go on sale with a 71 hp DICOR engine that’s not offered here in India. A 75hp Multijet engine and 86hp SAFIRE (petrol) engine will also be listed in the Spanish brochure.

Earlier in 2007, Fiat’s outgoing CEO Luca De Meo revealed two very important future models at an investor conference. One was B-Compact Fiat Uno, while the other was called CX-OVER (shown in the picture).
Fiat is said to have started working on the CX-Over (crossover) that will be bigger than Fiat Panda 4×4 and will pack the functionality of an MPV (as quoted by Fiat in the title). The car will measure about 4.5 meters in length, meant to be easy to use in the city and perform as a good offroader.
An official announcement has arrived from BMW that the 3 Series GT, inspired by the larger 5 Series GT is heading to the Frankfurt Motor Show which happens in September. The 3 Series GT will carry the design cues of the 2012 BMW 3 Series as well.

We think BMW is cool which is why we’ve got a BMW special here. The reason being they’re sticking to their original plans and haven’t shelved or put away any of their future cars. They’re our hero!
BMW, despite recession and fall in sales has confirmed it will go ahead with the launch of the X1, 5 Series GT on June 23rd at the Leipzig plant. It will soon be followed by the hybrid versions of the odd-looking X6 and extremely stylish 7 Series, both newcomers in India.

Maruti Suzuki has scrapped its plans of phasing out the Omni. The company is now working to upgrade the existing engine to make it BSIV compatible, as the mini van is still doing brisk sales (avg 7000 units/mth). The Maruti 800 however, will be phased out from 11 cities as planned.
