Toyota Kirloskar Motors announced today that its Urban SUV – Fortuner, will come to India by September ’09.
The car is expected to be priced around the Rs.20Lakh price bracket. It will be powered by a 3.0-Liter Common Rail Diesel Engine (163hp, 35kgm), that drives all four wheels using a full-time four wheel drive system. A 2.7Liter VVT-i petrol engine might also be available.
Some say he’s taking FIA for a ride. Others say controversy is his middle name. We think his name should be changed to ‘Mad Mostly’ (no lawsuits please).
Mr. Mosley revealed a new “World Engine plan” that talks about a single engine being used for three different FIA categories – Formula 1, Formula 2 and World Rally Championship (WRC). According to him, the same engine can be aspirated and tuned differently for the different categories.

Audi India registered excellent sales figures for the third consecutive month. The company recorded a 56% sales hike owing to the 162 cars sold in March 2009, as opposed to 104 cars sold during March last year. Despite the slack auto market, Audi India has sold 384 cars in the first quarter of 2009, a growth of 76% compared to the sales registered last year.
According to the tests conducted by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Tata Nano petrol which returned a mileage of 23.6 km/litre, is the most Fuel efficient petrol engined Four-wheeler available in the Indian market. It also boasts ultra-low carbon emissions of 101 g/km.
