Mitsubishi Motors India launched its premium SUV, Montero 09 in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The new 2009 Montero is priced at Rs. 41.94 lakh (ex-showroom) and is imported from Japan as a CBU(completely built unit) as has been since its first launch four years ago. This launch was also special for HM-Mitsubishi due to its inauguration of their new showroom – “Autodrome” in Mumbai.

We’ve presented a video earlier this year on the changes of this year’s F1 cars. The season kicks off day after tomorrow in Australia, with Brawn GP startlingly threatening other teams of their points.

Indian company Maini, the largest maker of electric vehicles, is prepping a brand new Reva/G-Wiz for later in the year. But before that version comes into existence, the present Reva/G-Wiz is getting a change in power supply. L-Ion unit will replace the heavy and inefficient Lead-Acid unit on the car, which is on sale in the U.K by the end of May.

Earlier in the day you would have read the Porsche Design Edition 3 accessories which comprises of a car, suitcase and wrist watch. Porsche merchandise shouldn’t come cheap however compared to what Audi’s introduced, it is merely negligible.

At almost 25,000 Euros, you could buy sixteen Tata Nanos. Just an idea, that!

Fiat attaches Start-Stop device to the 1.2-liter petrol 500

Fuel efficiency is the cornerstone of any small car sold anywhere today. Perhaps the most significant achievement in that sense is the Start-Stop technology, which pushes the engine into stand-by at traffic lights, reducing not only fuel usage but harmful emissions.

The Skoda Superb, which launched recently in India, is doing extremely well in European countries. It has won the Car of the year award in no less than eight countries.

Skoda using the COTY awards as an advertising opportunity is nothing new. Friends in Hyundai used the same technique to spread popularity of the i10 hatchback in India. They used the brilliant line “Most awarded car of the year 2008″ even on their staff buses.

Porsche has introduced a tempting line of products as part of the Design edition 3, testing the extent to which humans will go to acquire metal, leather and glass with the Porsche badge. This collection reminds me of the episode in the popular sitcom FRIENDS where character Joey gets obsessed with Porsches.

Hyundai Blue-Will is a plug-in petrol/electric hybrid concept which makes use of bio-degradable materials that is light on the environment. Very little information has been let out, and we’ll have to wait till the Seoul Motor Show which starts April 2nd to get images and more information on this eco-engineered car.
