We have more information on Tata Motors’ much awaited Tata Nano, which will take the crown of the world’s cheapest car and according to our sources, will be launched on the 26th of this month.

Exide, a very reputed and India’s largest lead acid storage battery manufacturer, has claimed that they would provide battery solutions for the upcoming small car. Reports suggest that the Kolkata-based company will begin commercial supply of batteries for the world’s cheapest car at the Indian automaker’s Pantnagar facility in Uttarakhand, where the first batch of Nanos will roll out from.

According to a senior representative of Exide Industries, Exide had inked the deal a long time back with it’s cost-competitive and purpose-made batteries. These batteries are specifically meant for the Nano and the technology used to make them might also find application in batteries meant for other small cars in the future.

IAB assumes these batteries should be smaller in dimension, lighter in weight and less powerful that the standard ones used on other Tata vehicles.

IAB Comment : Well, the much awaited car of the year, Tata Nano will be finally here on Republic day. We can’t wait for the company to announce the variants and features across trims.

As it was reported earlier, Tata will extensively use parts from German spearhead Bosch and also those Rs.450 Airbags are expected in the near future, which will be the cheapest airbag ever to be manufactured since it’s debut on automobiles.
