The Latest offering from Suzuki’s stable – The Maruti A-star, re-badged as Pixo in Euro markets and Alto in others, has bagged its first Car Of The Year Award from Zig Wheels.
The A-star will be sold in markets such as Australia later in 2009 and will be named as ‘Alto’. The Alto we know of is the different model, in the previous generation car in the Alto lineup, which turns out to be India’s best selling car as of now.
Chief judge Adil Jal Darukhanawala was impressed by the well designed small cars, which is frugal, simple, reliable and efficient. The judges were very enthusiastic about the A-Star’s all new 1.0-litre engine.
“The car doesn’t break any new ground in absolute power and torque, but in its actual delivery in terms of acceleration from standstill, in-gear driveability and top speed it is the proverbial David with the wherewithal to massacre many Goliaths.”
“Overall fuel efficiency is well catered for, with the A-Star one of the most environmentally friendly cars on this planet with an exceedingly low 103g/km CO2 emission rating.
“The loveable interior is another aspect which is a step forward. The sporty three-spoke steering wheel is nicely crafted and just right for the size of car, while the attention to detail and turnout is of a very high order, These were the words of judges for the cute looking A-star.

Maruti A-star is not a good car
I have purchase it in 2009 from My Car Pune
and I am having hell of problems with it
Nither Maruti nor MY CAR PUNE bother about the serices and care about customer
all the complaints goes in black hole
complaints are not sorted out
Maruti as well as MY CAR go on linering on the complaints till the customer fade up
Both MY CAR and Maruti is brillint in providing the pathetic and pittiful services
Plz told me that whats a new offer in a star in 2011 ???? Im frm bengal at malda nd plz give me details of price.
