Honda Accord Limited Edition marks 30 Years of Accord in Australia

Given the fact that the previous-gen Honda Accord is one of the most popular premium cars in India, you’ll find this information very interesting.

The Honda Accord has not been in India for a very long time considering it’s presence down under for a span of 30 long years. It hasn’t merely been 30 long years, but 30 successful years as well.

To celebrate 30 years of the Honda Accord in Australia, Honda has released a limited edition 2.4 litre four cylinder i-VTEC engine

The German car giant Mercedes Benz’s Luxury S Class has yet again won the Best Luxury Car, this being the 3rd time in a row, at the What Car? Car of the Year 2009 awards.

Since its launch in 1992, Mercedes Benz S class has received many awards. Indian readers will know about the S’ latest award- ‘Most Technologically advanced car’ by Autocar India last year.

The ultimate BMW, the 7 Series Beemer has just been launched in India. That’s right, India gets it just months after its International launch but that comes as no surprise as India is an emerging market for BMW and that the 7 series is fully imported as a Completely built Unit (CBU). So, not only can the car get here sooner but at an astronomical cost too.

All that glitters needn’t be gold, and the car you see in the picture is an example of that.

This chrome-finished Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, gladly sits on the front page of Indian Autos Blog, as AMG has strayed into India. Images were snapped in Dubai (duh!) but the owner wasn’t to be seen anywhere close by (probably went to buy an island to park this in)

General Motors is en route to launch LPG & CNG cars in India in the next few months. This announcement was made after the American company is trying to strengthen the SUV segment by launching the Automatic transmission variant of it’s best selling Captiva, priced at Rs. 20.3 Lakh.

Karl Slym General Motors India President (GMI) and Managing Director confirmed that their strategy for this year is to bring in more fuel efficient cars and introduce vehicles powered by (other) fuels like CNG and LPG, besides having different power-trains and different displacements. The company will be launching a LPG-driven car in the first half of this year.

We speculate it’s the 800 cc version of the Spark which has been in GM’s pipeline for a long while now. The Aveo, which underwent a minor cosmetic surgery last year, will also be blessed with the LPG heart along with a 1.4-liter diesel engine by the end of 2009. A thoughtful move given the slash in LPG prices by the Indian government. No info on the Cruze or the Beat launch dates yet, until then stay tuned to IAB for more information.

2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class gets AMG Sports pack

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has not yet made it to the Indian market, but when it does come, the prospective E-Class buyer will have the choice of buying a new E-Class, upgraded with the AMG sports pack. This new, optional package includes sporty and dynamic features, some of which are not available individually. The AMG sports package can be combined with all engine variants and all E-Class design and equipment lines.

Performance of the team members and their activities was apprised time to time by the team leader. The team worked within the boundaries set by the SAE India BAJA rules. In spite having constraints such as sponsorship, rural locality where the institute resides and the facilities available at the location, made the team further innovative.

Skoda launches Limited Edition Octavia (Laura) vRS in UK

For a short time period, we didn’t get to hear of many limited Editions, but it’s pouring cats and dogs now. Czech car maker Skoda has recently launched a limited-run Skoda Octavia (which is known as Laura in India) in U.K.

Only 500 of these cars will be produced with buyers given the choice of two engine options, a powerful 200HP 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit or a 170HP 2.0-litre turbo diesel.
