BMW to launch 7 Series hybrid in 2009

BMW, keen to beat recession and threatening fuel prices has just unveiled its Hybrid program at the on-going Detroit Auto Show. The best part was that, USA, which we all know is hit badly by the recession will get the Hybrid versions of the X6 and the 7-Series in 2009.

After the infamous tumultuous journey, the most eagerly anticipated car of 2009 (as per our polls)- The Tata Nano, may finally roll out on January 26. Tata dealers and Auto experts say that Republic Day would be a preferred day to bring out the ‘People’s Car’. So, the Tata Nano is now all set to reach the homes of the People, but bookings will not open until March 2009.

Six months after Mahindra bought a stake in two wheeler maker Kinetic Motors, it’s intentions are coming out and plans appear to be big for the XYLO maker. Kinetic’s existing scooters Nova and Flyte will be revamped and launched with a new Mahindra-Kinetic badge by the end of this month. Changes are expected to both the scooters, and they should be only cosmetic.

The Italian car manufacturer Fiat has finally launched its Linea sedan in a glittering ceremony in Mumbai at Taj Lands End. The car was due in December but because of recent Mumbai terror attacks car makers like FIAT and Mahindra postponed the launches of their new products, Linea and Xylo respectively.

“Fiat has kept its promise of making this an exciting year for its customers. The launch of the Linea is the first in the line of three launches that Fiat will undertake this year, the other two being Bravo and Grande Punto,”Said Fiat India CEO, Rajeev Kapoor.

FIAT Linea is available in both forms- Diesel as well as petrol, the Petrol version comes with 1368cc FIRE engine which produces max. torque of 115 NM @ 4500 RPM, and the diesel is available with 1248 CC popular Multijet engine which is very new and refined and it produces Max. Torque of 203NM @ 2500 RPM, it has total of six gears including 1 reverse which is M/T type.

Honda uncovers its electric program for 2-wheelers

Late last year, we informed you about Honda’s Hybrid Motorcycle plans for 2010. Apart from this announcement, Honda had also announced plans of an electric motorcycle and more information is now available.

Toyota Refreshes Camry; Minor exterior and interior changes

The Japanese car giant Toyota, recently showcased its refreshed 2010 Camry at the Detroit Auto Show.

The differences compared to the existing Camry is not that much- a new bumper with bigger air intakes, more sharply designed headlamps and foglamps, 16-inch wheels and the grille receives more chrome work.
