Suzuki SX4 at IMPA test days 2008
October 19, 2008 # # Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki # No CommentThe Suzuki SX4 is a truly great car. We Indians love it and its the best car in its segment out there. Suzuki also sells the AWD hatchback version of this car in the US of A. They provide a special version of the sedan with 2.0l DOHC that puts out around 220bhp, and the sad part? We Indians don’t get it!
The video here is a part if the IMPA test days where various cars are track-tested to view their full strengths. The reporter is quite enthusiastic and satisfied with the car and mentions about the racing he had done with the Swift GT’s.
This hatchback is a special edition called SX4 Plus and gets a big turbocharger that gives it additional boost. Suzuki is focussing on creating performance cars for the US market and this is a step in the right direction. You have to watch the video to understand it. Just listen to the exhaust and the engine and the turbo whistle! Too hot to ignore. The car hits 106mph just before it has to be braked for a corner and the car has about 2500RPM still to reach its redline which means it can easily hit around 130+mph.
Fancy driving one here? No, not unless you get it modded locally and don’t expect Suzuki to bring in a performance variant for the Indian market. Even though you can get it modded, can an AWD conversion be done? I think that is next to impossible. So just drool over the video and lets just hope that we get a performance variant in the future.
